Fairmount United Church of Christ (Congregational) is an open, diverse and welcoming
congregation which seeks to show kindness, do justice and walk humbly with God.
We are proud that our church is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Our church was nominated for its association with the Rev. Clayton B. Wells, who was the first to broadcast religious sermons and for its association with the Rev. J.H. Parker, a Congregational Church minister who helped found Fairmount Ladies College — now Wichita State University.
In 1919, Fairmount was the first church in Wichita to open its doors as a voting place, and in 1920 was the first to transmit radio sermons.
In 2006, the church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
